What Will We Do When We Encounter The Mark of The Beast?

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

-Revelation 13:16-17, KJV English Bible

I never really give this topic much thought – maybe a long time ago – until about a month or so ago. I would not really believe that we have come to a time that is this close to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, our Messiah and the events that will be leading to the revealing of the son of perdition, the man of sin, and therefore, the implementation of the beast system.

I obviously do not know when or how or if the predictions that I have made in my previous posts are going to be true. I sincerely hope that God will give us more time and that this generation of Christians would pass away in a more merciful manner, but if the LORD has appointed this time to be the time, then all I can do is surrender and obey.

According to many Bible scholars, especially those who see Israel as God’s time piece for the times of the end, the time for the Return of Jesus is soon because of the countless prophecies that have been fulfilled and only a few pieces are left, and the last few are seemingly coming into place, including Jerusalem being recognized as the capital city of Israel, the proposed peace plan between Israel and Palestine and the rebuilding of the Third Temple of the Jewish people.

In view of this situation, it is imperative that followers of Jesus look closely into Revelation and even Daniel and Ezekiel to have a glimpse and be able to be watchful of the season. This is a fair warning because in Matthew 24:24, Jesus said:

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Does this look familiar? Did John saw a number and wrote the value in Latin (Greek) or he saw modern numbers and wrote down the closest letters he could find? If John saw modern day numbers today, without translation for the purpose of making it cryptic what would he write in Revelation?

And this, as far as I understood, is not a magic formula that if God has elected us, then we cannot be deceived. Even Adam and Eve got deceived, and they were created perfect. I believe this can only be true, if we – the elect know the Word of God and love the LORD so faithfully.

In the following video, Pastor Sundar Selvaraj shared about his experience when he asked his staff members about the Mark of the Beast, and I myself pondered this question too. The particular question was raised at 20:25:

And these questions are legitimate questions that we should ask ourselves:

When the Mark of the Beast System is finally implemented on all and policies are made so that no one is allowed to buy or sell without the Mark, what will we do in the following circumstances:

  1. When we face the choice of not being able to work and/or homelessness and getting the Mark, what will we choose?
  2. When we and our children face hunger and insecurity, what will we choose?
  3. When we face the choice to get the Mark or torture, what will we choose?
  4. When we face the choice to get the Mark or being forced to get the Mark anyway, what can we do?
  5. When we face the choice to get the Mark or death, what will we choose?

The Bible is clear that those who receive the Mark shall not be forgiven. In under any circumstances we cannot succumb and say, “God will understand.” Because He won’t. No matter how one argues on it, one does not want to succumb to the system and receive the Mark and hope for the best in eternal life only to find out at the Judgment Throne of God that He won’t understand. That would be saddest reality of all.

Dilemma number five is probably the most merciful of all the five, but there are no guarantees. The Body of Christ needs to be prepared to give that much devotion to God, that if we are to face such circumstances that we would choose God. These things are not easy. I myself have faced the possibility of homelessness and unemployment for a few months at a time, and it’s horrible. What do I do in such times? I spend time with God in prayer and fasting. By the grace of God, I am not homeless, but I almost see it face to face a few times, and it is not pretty. For those who are parents, it is even worse, and not pretty at all. I cannot imagine the pain that parents face if they are in this situation.

In these situations, I realize how choices that would help me financially would come into my head, and I could justify it with “God will understand” or “I will repent later” and how many people face these choices everyday, leaving many into a life of slavery to sin and recidivism.

I did not go into the paths of going against God’s Word, but it has been extremely difficult. But I would not say that I was an all out perfect, flawless saint out of the ordeal, and it is easy for people to judge, until they are in the same circumstances with a similar intensity. It is easy to dismiss trials others face and minimize their painful experiences when they are sparing details of their circumstances. Sometimes they tell their experience in a lighter tone so others would not be intensely burdened by the pain they are facing.

The point I foremost want to make is we should take up arms in our walk with God. In these end days our walk with Him shall not be a tame journey but one that is tested by fire. These are the days when we are asked to ‘overcome’, meaning that we have tread it carefully and faithfully with the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit.

Our arms – weapons – are described in Ephesians 6. The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Sometimes, it is easy for ‘preachers’ to use verses in the Bible. Preaching the Word of God and spreading of the ‘Good News’ is something that God has commanded all of us, not just ordained preachers to do. So preaching requires at the very minimum is to preach God’s truth, and therefore must include God’s Word, and then the context of the message being preached has to glorify Jesus, and must support the values promoted by the Bible.

If the message does not pass this test, then it is not worthy to be heeded. I only wrote this message because the LORD compelled me to write this specific message. And I wrote the above warning to testify that I am writing according to the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and that even this message should be subjected to this test as the test should be applied to every message spread to those who follow Jesus as it is now the time for such scrutiny and wisdom. May the LORD bless us all with grace, mercy, wisdom, faith and hope in these times.
